Dr. Eric Steckler is a board-certified psychiatrist with over 45 years of experience providing comprehensive mental health care to children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. He is dedicated to delivering thoughtful, patient-centered treatment and has built a long-standing reputation for clinical excellence, leadership, and advocacy in psychiatry.

Dr. Steckler earned his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed advanced training in adult and child psychiatry at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He has been board certified in both adult and child psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology since the late 1970s.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Steckler has practiced in a wide variety of clinical settings, including private practice, inpatient hospitals, emergency psychiatry units, and telepsychiatry services. He has extensive experience diagnosing and treating conditions such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and attention-deficit disorders, and is skilled in both psychopharmacologic treatment and therapeutic interventions.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Steckler has held leadership positions, including serving as Chairperson of the Northern Virginia Chapter of the Washington Psychiatric Society. He has also been actively involved in advocacy efforts, working with legislators to improve mental health care policy. His dedication to the field was recognized with the “Psychiatrist of the Year” award from the Washington Psychiatric Society.

Dr. Steckler is known for his collaborative approach to care, his ability to lead multidisciplinary treatment teams, and his commitment to education and mentorship.
