Dr. Eric J․ Mathews is a dedicated psychiatrist providing comprehensive, patient-centered care for adults in an outpatient setting. He is committed to helping patients improve their mental health and overall well-being through compassionate, evidence-based treatment.
Dr. Mathews earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and completed his psychiatry residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where he gained extensive experience in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency psychiatric care. He is currently board-eligible in psychiatry and holds a full California medical license in good standing.
His clinical experience includes working with a wide range of mental health conditions, as well as providing psychiatric care in both community and forensic settings. During his training, he worked with Los Angeles County mental health courts and correctional systems, conducting evaluations and supporting individuals navigating complex mental health and legal needs.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Mathews has a strong background in advocacy and public health. He has held leadership roles with Disability Rights International, contributing to global mental health and human rights initiatives focused on improving care for vulnerable populations.
