Dr. Daron Watts is a physician with extensive training in both psychiatry and internal medicine, dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered mental health care. His background combines clinical expertise, leadership experience, and a strong commitment to improving access to behavioral health services.
Dr. Watts earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University and completed his psychiatry residency at Wright State University. He also completed an internal medicine residency at Kettering Medical Center and holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Illinois.
He currently serves as a Medical Director for mental and behavioral health programs, where he provides telehealth care for patients with mental health and substance use concerns. In this role, Dr. Watts also develops clinical policies and oversees program development to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Dr. Watts has held multiple leadership positions throughout his career, including serving as Medical Director for substance use and mental health programs within the Veterans Affairs system. His experience includes treating conditions such as PTSD, substance use disorders, and severe mental illness in both residential and outpatient settings, while supervising multidisciplinary teams of healthcare providers.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Watts served as Chief of Operational Psychiatry in the U.S. Coast Guard, where he provided psychiatric care, consultation, and policy development on a national level. His work has included implementing integrated behavioral health models and supporting complex clinical and administrative functions.
Dr. Watts is also an active contributor to medical research and education, with publications focused on mental health and behavioral medicine. He is known for his collaborative approach, strong clinical judgment, and dedication to delivering evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s needs.
